1. If you are using a company network or computer system, regardless of firewall or security system, all you information are stored (including your keyboard stroke, that means whatever you are typing, your employer can retrieve it with software). So, never use company computer for any personal use. This is one of major false sense of security everyone has. Your correspondence (messenger, email, etc) are logged or recorded.

2. If you are using free email (yahoo, msn, gmail) to send some personal information with your company computer, and you think your company will not know about it. Think again. It is matter of time before your employer / manager reads it (if they have reasons to do so). So, never send sensitive information such as resume or bank account information thru company computer.

3. Personal / private computer that may have been infected with spyware or virus. If you have not updated your virus-protection or anti-virus software for few months, it is very likely your computer are at risk especially you have been surfing free site, casino site, entertainment (18+) site and those website address that you receive thru spam. Your private computer may be sending out your keystroke recording without your knowledge. So, keep updating anti-virus software, stay away from free entertainment site or spammy site.

4.If you are doing some work with you computer without connecting to internet and thinks that it is safe. Think again. Some spyware can send out your file or keystroke once your computer is connected to internet. So, even standalone computer are risky if it connects to internet once awhile.

5. If you argue that you are not typing but just viewing or reading private document on company's computer is safe, think again. There are software out there that capture employee's computer screen and save it to company computer system. You may think it is waste of time or resource to do such a thing, but it happen to a lot of fortune 500 companies or military contract companies. So, don't even use company computer to view any private document, essentially a company computer can be turn into a security camera that records your movement or interaction with computer.

What service we offer here? We provide text file (no pictures, pure text) encryption for free. Encryption and de-cryption are done online on this site. Anyone has access to your file can view it here.

If you want your document to be password protected, you may send the encrypted text file to yourself thru email (as attachedment). In that case, you or anyone has the email password can retrieve the document and view it online here. Do it with your own computer if you do not want your employer knows about the content of the document.
